FSR through its Board of Directors and staff is committed to promoting the mission of the Foundation by providing the time and resources necessary to further this mission.

Development Director
Full Time, To begin late 2009
The Himmelfarb Group has been asked to assist the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research in its search for a development director. The foundation was established 10 years ago to improve care for those affected by sarcoidosis and to raise awareness of and find a cure for this devastating but little-known disease. Now a national leader in this arena, the foundation is poised to dramatically expand its work and impact and seeks a creative and entrepreneurial individual to shape and run the fundraising that will enable this growth.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven to ten years’ relevant experience, including success with individual giving and special events. INTERNSHIPS
FSR internships are designed to provide a structured learning experience that is relevant to the student's academic and professional goals as well as the programs and activities of the Foundation.  Internships are performed under the direct supervision of the FSR Executive Director.

Communications Intern
Part Time
Summer 2009 - Undergraduate or Graduate Students

Communications intern sought to provide assistance with a variety of tasks in support of Foundation awareness activities.  Student will research and write news releases, letters to the editor and newsletter articles, promote awareness campaigns, maintain content of Foundation Web site by researching and writing updates, assist in coordinating and publicizing special events and assist in the updating and maintenance of database information.  This position requires excellent research and writing skills and the ability to meet deadlines.  Experience/course work in Journalism, Communications, English or related area is desired.  The position is unpaid, however, a local travel stipend may be available.  Email resume/cover letter to: employment@stopsarcoidosis.org, reference 'Communications Internship' in your email.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Ongoing

Volunteers sought to provide assistance with a variety of tasks in support of Foundation activities including patient information request fulfillment (stuffing envelopes, preparing mailings), data entry and special events assistance.  Volunteers are unpaid, however, a local travel stipend may be available.  Email to volunteer@stopsarcoidosis.org
